Why we built this
Funeral costs in the UK can vary enormously — and families arranging a funeral are often in a deeply vulnerable position. We believe that transparent, comparable pricing should be the norm, not the exception.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) Order 2021 requires all funeral homes in the UK to publish a Standardised Price List. CompareFuneral gathers those prices into one place, so you can compare without visiting multiple websites.
Our data
All pricing on CompareFuneral is extracted directly from funeral homes' CMA Standardised Price Lists — the same documents the funeral home publishes on their website. We do not fabricate or estimate prices.
Prices are updated periodically and should be confirmed directly with the funeral home before any decisions are made. Funeral homes are required by law to honour the prices on their published price lists.
Free to use
CompareFuneral is free for families to use. We do not charge for searches, comparisons, or contact requests. Funeral homes can optionally list their services with a verified profile.
